I look at ready-made objects and I paint what I see in them. Giving them potential to be something they are definitely not. The minimal change the objects undergo via the medium of painting is purposefully aesthetically pleasing in order to initiate an active interaction with the viewer. The titling of the artworks primarily completes or reveals what the viewer might have partially recognized, and more importantly it simultaneously negates what has been confirmed to be present via a play on perspective. Inspired by both Marcel Duchamp and Rene Magritte, I paint onto ready-made objects a representation of other objects/scenes, thus creating conceptual pieces in which the viewer is led to interpret further.
